There is just so much negativity out
there and it is important for all of us to consciously work on being
more positive and sending our more positive vibes.
That is the summary of Dove and Twitter‘s newest collaborative campaign.
The beauty company has teamed up with the social media company to ensure that the world learns how to #SpeakBeautiful.
The “Speak Beautiful” campaign is a fight against all the clapbacks,
cyber bullying and negative comments going on the social media space.
The campaign is a breath of fresh air.
It advocates for more positive comments in social media from individuals, with a focus on women and their beauty and body image.
According to a research by Dove, 8 out
of every 10 have seen negative comments about other women on social
media, and 4 out of every 5 negative tweets about beauty and body image
are from women criticizing themselves.
The campaign encourages women to be more positive when tweeting about their bodies, and those of other women.

In a press release on the #SpeakBeautiful campaign, social media researcher Danah Boyd
said, “Social media is playing a critical role in showing and shaping
how women and girls feel about themselves. Yet, women do not realize how
online dialogue can contribute to negative mindsets and behavior
towards beauty both on and offline. We women have an incredible
opportunity to be more thoughtful about how we speak about ourselves and
others on social media. The power is truly at our fingertips.”
