Memphis woman's 'Kids for sale' Facebook photo showing duct-taped children sparks police investigation

Duct-taped children: Not so funny.
Police are investigating a Memphis woman’s Facebook post showing two children in a car with duct tape over their hands and mouths under the caption, “Kids for sale, 45% off because they bad” — a disturbing post one relative wrote off as a “joke.”
Facebook user 'Jaton Justfilly Jaibabi' posted a photo of two children in a car who appear to have their hands and mouths duct taped, with a caption reading "kids for sale, 45% off because they bad.”
The picture appeared last week on the Facebook page for a woman with the user name Jaton Justsilly Jaibabi, according to WMC. The station said the uncensored photo showed tears in the older child’s eyes.

The Memphis Police Department and the Tennessee Department of Children's Services immediately launched an investigation into
the post. Police told Fox13 they are pursuing leads for the callous woman and the children, but no charges have been filed. Authorities did not immediately return messages from the Daily News.
On Sunday, the woman posted a picture that appeared to show her sticking out her tongue while holding a baby girl.

“She good Regardless who on her team cause she got me and I for DAM sure got her #F---EverybodyElse,” she wrote.
As of Monday morning, the woman has changed her name on Facebook, deleted the duct tape photo and listed her residence as “Mexico, Pampanga,” a town in the Philippines.
Her cousin, Derion Dewayne King, wrote a tone-deaf defense of the photo.

“Our family and friends know the love we have for all the kids in our family it's just crazy that out of a whole lifetime they judge a person off of this one event,” King, who is listed as Memphis resident, posted on Facebook.

“Basically a joke at the moment that people just went overboard about. People make mistakes and that's what this situation is, a lesson learned. They are safe, unharmed, and loved that's all it is to it.”

In another oblivious post, he blamed the police department for spending any time investigating the photo.
“yea the joke prolly was a lil harsh but it's mfs getting shot killed raped and they not putting in as much effort investigating that,” he wrote.
The woman and King did not return requests for comment.
