The Beyhive is swarming.
Beyoncé’s rabid fan base stung TV chef Rachael Ray on social media over
the weekend, mistaking her as fashion designer Rachel Roy, who is
allegedly the “other woman” in Beyonce’s new infidelity anthem “Sorry.”
“I see what you’re doing posting that chili on Instagram you
homewrecker,” user Jeanse Broy commented on a photo of Ray’s slow cooked
beef sandwich. She punctuated the sour note with bumble bee emojis.
“Don’t forget the lemon zest beeyoch,” commented another hangry fan.
The song not-so-subtlety hints at Beyoncé’s husband Jay Z having an
affair with a woman she calls “Becky.” “He better call Becky with the
good hair,” she sings. It instantly had fans warning anyone with the
name Rachel to stay away from the rapper.
“The beyhive isn’t f---king around. If your name is Rachel. Yo ass better get some raid,” user Brannew94 wrote.
Some food fans realized the error and begged others to leave the “EEVO” chef alone.
“Dang all this lady is trying to do is make brunch and people are
dragging her for no reason #ThisIsTheWrongRachael,” commented a user
named Mama Maia.
Ray declined to comment but appeared to cryptically address the drama by sharing an photo of lemonade to Instagram.
"Shake up your Sunday with @ChefDPhillips' lemon shake-up with lemonade
lavender ice cubes," she wrote. "#RachaelRay #RachaelRayShow"
She wasn’t the only Rachel to experience the wrath of Beyoncé’s
followers. Celeb stylist and designer Rachel Zoe was also harangued on
her Instagram account for messing with Beyoncé’s man.
One star who wasn't feeling the sting, however, was actress Lori
Loughlin. She may play Aunt Becky on "Full House," but she made it clear
she wasn't the "Becky" that Beyoncé was referring to.
"Wasn't me!" she posted to Twitter, along with a photo meme of her
character on the show with the caption, "Becky ... with the good hair."
Beyoncé set social media abuzz Saturday when she surprised everyone
with the release of her new album, “Lemonade,” immediately after an HBO
special that showed the videos accompanying the disc.
The real “Becky” is thought to be designer Rachel Roy.
Roy, who was married to Jay Z’s ex-business partner Damon Dash, was
reportedly the cause of Solange Knowles infamous takedown of her
brother-in-law in an elevator after the 2014 Met Ball.
Following the debut of “Sorry” Roy
posted a pic of her laughing with a pal accompanied by the provocative
caption: "Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for
selfies, or self truths, always. live in the light #nodramaqueens."
The following day she made her Instagram account private but tweeted,
““I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn’t be
tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.”
