Nigeria, has been in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health,
the Global Hygiene Council and the Nigerian Medical Association to
actively and consistently promote the message of good health and hygiene
in Nigeria.
In line with its vision, RB introduced the Dettol Multi Surface Cleaner
in Nigeria,
a revolutionary product which is the first of its kind in
the surface-cleaning category. The Dettol Multi Surface Cleaner provides
10 times better cleaning and germ kill versus bleach and detergents
while providing an all-day fragrance. Also, using Dettol Multi Surface
Cleaner is more affordable and cheap compared to buying all other
cleaning agents such as detergents and bleach separately. Dettol Multi
Surface Cleaner can be used on all hard surfaces including tiles,
marble, and granite, wood or cement floors to maintain a healthy and
hygienic environment within the home.
The new product was introduced with a national Dettol Clean Naija
campaign, which was initiated as a public awareness campaign to attract
the attention of Nigerians to the problem of germs and best hygiene
practices. For the campaign, the Dettol Clean Naija team went city by
city cleaning key National establishments chosen via digital voting by
Nigerians. Over One Million Nigerians responded to the campaign and
voted for places which were significant to them. Some of the
establishments voted for and cleaned include; The Braithwaite Memorial
Specialist Hospital in Port Harcourt, Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the National
Library in Abuja, Rumfa College in Kano and the National Stadium in
Lagos.
Speaking at the final cleaning event at the National Stadium, Lagos, the General Manager, RB West Africa, Mr. Rahul Murgai
stated that all of us would like to provide healthy lives to the ones
we love and care, giving a complete protection against germs. This
involves a process of cultivating best hygiene practices in Personal
Care such as proper handwashing and body wash habits, as well as Surface
Cleaning in our homes. This is why the Dettol Multi-Surface Cleaner has
been introduced into Nigeria, to provide a true hygiene based ecosystem
for the families.
Also speaking at the event, the Marketing Director, RB West Africa, Mr.
Silivrili stated that “a startling fact is that 80 % of hygiene related
illness are acquired at home, however while cleaning the surfaces,
Nigerians have been using suboptimal solutions like detergents which
does not kill germs or bleach which does not properly remove stains, and
compromising on all-day fragrance”. He emphasized the uniqueness of
Dettol Multi Surface Cleaner and reiterated its benefits in maintaining
truly clean and hygienic homes, and all day fragrance.
According to Silivrili, “the Dettol Clean Naija Campaign would not have
been completed without the cleaning of the National Stadium – a great
edifice in Nigeria’s Centre of Excellence as a demonstration of our
commitment to eradicating germs and keeping Nigeria clean”.
