This Rose has its thorns.
Actress and DJ Ruby Rose was kicked out of a New Orleans bar and grill Friday after she threw French fries at a waiter, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
The incident took place when Rose, 30, grew agitated after waiting for
her table to be served, according to Rebellion Bar and Urban Kitchen
owner Seung Hong.
"She was having like a tantrum. She was awful," Hong told the Times-Picayune. "She was a horrible person."
Hong told the newspaper he warned Rose and her party that the wait
could be a while, but they opted to stay at the restaurant. They were
seated 15 minutes later, he said, and had their food within the next 50
minutes.
But apparently that wasn't enough to keep Rose from losing her temper.
Even after he offered to comp their appetizers and buy a round of
drinks, Hong says the entertainer tossed a fry at the bartender — before
throwing another handful at him when he turned around to check on them.
The owner asked her to leave shortly after.
"It was the first time I've ever had to ask someone to leave, and it was Ruby Rose," he told the paper.
Rose, however, told a far different story when she addressed the incident on her Facebook
the following day. The "Orange is the New Black" star claims she and
her company waited more than hour and a half for entrees that never came
— and that she only threw the food when they mocked her sobriety.
"When someone makes repeated derogatory jokes about the sobriety I
worked so hard to achieve, it's hard not to react emotionally," she
wrote. "So I threw a singular fry at him. Then he came back as we were
getting ready to leave and continued making awful comments, so I
continued with the fries."
"Maybe next time I won't throw fries, then again, maybe next time that
bartender won't tell someone who is sober to "go call your f**king
sponsor!" she continued.
Rose was in the Big Easy for a concert at the Metropolitan Nightclub.
