Blake Lively wants ‘normal upbringing’ for kids, talks marrying her ‘best friend’

A ritzy “Gossip Girl” life is the last thing actress Blake Lively wants for her kids.

The Hollywood stunner — pregnant with her second child — has dished out a few details on her growing family, explaining she wants to keep her children away from the spotlight.

"Ryan (Reynolds) had a nice, normal upbringing, and we want our kids to have the same normal life that we had. We don't ever want to rob them of what we had, because we'd feel really selfish," she told Marie Claire’s July issue.

The 28-year-old and her 39-year-old husband have managed to keep their 1-year-old daughter, James, from the spotlight.

 

Lively’s second pregnancy was made public in April but the notoriously private couple have yet to confirm the news.

"We knew the lifestyle we were getting into, and while it's hard … it's another thing when it's our child. She didn't have the opportunity to make a decision about what she wants,” Lively told the magazine, staying mum on her burgeoning belly.

Photos of their tot have been rare but Lively said the little girl has her “heavy eyelids” and “clammy hands!”

Lively, who is reaching her four-year anniversary with Reynolds this September, also opened up on her marriage.

"I knew he would always be my best friend for my whole life. That was the biggest thing to me," she said of her former “Green Lantern” co-star.

“I'd never known anything like the friendship that I had with him. I could like him as much as I loved him,” she added.
