Michael Jackson’s daughter, Paris, says her tattoos cover past of ‘self-hatred’

Paris Jackson's ever-increasing throng of tattoos reminds her she's risen as a "fighter" after a past marred with "self-hatred."
The King of Pop's teen daughter took to Instagram on Tuesday to explain her many ink choices since turning 18 in April.

"I don't see a dark past anymore. My scars and past of self-hatred have been covered by loving marks, creativity, ingenuity and depth," she wrote, noting why she appreciates the "craftsmanship" of tattoos.
The middle Jackson child acknowledged she can't escape her difficult past but views her tattoos as a way "of changing for the better, always improving."

Among her permanent tributes are two tats honoring her late father, Michael Jackson.

One is a replication of the album art from "Dangerous." In the "Bad" singer's handwriting, she also had "Queen of my heart" inscribed on her wrist.
Other tattoos include a blue lotus flower, the New York City skyline, her grandmother Katherine's name in Mandarin Chinese and "Motley" etched on the inside of her lips.

"They represent strength for me," she said.
Paris attempted suicide in 2013, cutting her wrists and swallowing a large dose of painkillers.

The young star urged fans to keep fighting through dark times, reminding them "it gets better, you're not alone."

"I'll always keep fighting and encouraging others to stay strong. We all go through hell every now and then but it makes us the warriors of love we were meant to be," she continued.
Paris was 11 when her father died in 2009 at the age of 50. Her mother is Debbie Rowe.
