GOOGLE has been ranked the best company to work for in South Africa by a global research and advisory firm.
Google — which also topped the global rankings — was the only technology company on Universum’s top-10 list for SA, which was dominated by the finance sector.
Investec was ranked third, while the Reserve Bank and South African Revenue Service (SARS) were both listed in the top 10 along, along with audit firms Deloitte and KPMG.
Universum said today’s businesses operated in a highly competitive employment landscape. “You can gain valuable insight into how your organisation is perceived by tomorrow’s workforce,” it said.
The companies were ranked by on the opinion of 21,961 professionals and students from 30 universities as well as 68,273 employer evaluations.
South African Breweries (SAB) was ranked second while Transnet and Coca-Cola SA took up the fourth and fifth spots.
Google was the most sought-after employer globally, followed by Apple and E&Y.
