Good news for you in ibeju- lekki plots

DEVELOPERS/INVESTORS: OVER 700 HECTARES OF IBEJU -LEKKI PLOTS NOW AVAILABLE!

As LASG approves excision requests of 35 Ibeju-Lekki communities.

The dearth of large tracts of buildable plots within the main Lekki

axis has necessitated the need for estate developers to move to the communities within Ibeju Lekki further down the Lekki-Epe expressway at the fringes Epe Town. However, the interest of the government over the years in the area has also brought to the fore the need for such developers to do their due diligence before buying any plot of land; lest such a developer might be buying an acquired and committed government land (on which government title cannot be granted).

Projects like the proposed Lekki International Airport, Free Trade Zone, International Golf Course, Deep sea port and the recently announced Dangote Refinery have all been earmarked for different parts of Ibeju-Lekki and large tracts of land for the purpose of their development have been acquired by the government.

But there is now good news for aspiring Ibeju –Lekki developers. The immediate past Governor of Lagos state Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola at the tail end of his administration had presented a certificate of occupancy to representatives of land owning families of 40 excised villages across the state out of which 35 are located within the Ibeju-Lekki axis (see table for names of communities and size of land excised to them). Different from past excisions granted to communities, the former Governor in its review of the process of granting excision to communities had mandated that such communities present a detailed layout of plots on which the excision is being applied for and also apply to get certificates of occupancy on them. What this means is that developers who will be buying from the communities will not have to go through the hassles of roads, drainages on such plots and could well adapt the layout to suite their estates plans.
