Yam is one of the staple Nigerian foods that cut across many cultures and has versatile ways of cooking it. You can boil or fry yam, roast or bake it, pound or mash it, as well as grate it too.

Yam pottage, fried yam (mostly called yamarita) or boiled yam with stew are some of the ways yam is easily enjoyed.

Children can get bored of yam quickly and here are 4 other ways to make this yummy tuber into some kid-friendly recipes that they can as well take in their lunchbox as a school snack/meal.
Yam & Corn Fritters – Mashed, yam, corn and cheese makes this a yummy yam snack or breakfast for the kids.
