Trump ex Marla Maples will not be the nation’s First Lady, but she apparently has no problem exercising executive privileges.
The second wife of the President-elect was involved in a “verbal altercation” with children’s book author Deborah Gregory at a movie screening when, according to our sources, there was disagreement over her seating assignment.
Spies at a recent Upper West Side screening of the Pharrell
Williams-produced film “Hidden Figures” tell us
that the 53-year-old
Maples and a friend grabbed a pair of seats that had been claimed by
Gregory, whose best known for penning the popular “Cheetah Girls” book
series and co-producing the Disney Channel’s adaptations. We're told
that Gregory and her pals were previously settled into the seats at the
center of the dispute, but walked away for a few minutes to take photos
with fans and event photographers.
When Gregory and two friends returned just before show time, Maples had
hunkered down and gotten comfortable. We’re told that the Brooklyn-born
author tried diplomatically to explain to Maples that there were
assigned seats for this particular event — and those were hers — but
Maples wasn't having it.
“Deborah told Marla politely that those were her seats, but Marla
refused to move,” according to our cinema snitch. “(Marla) said. ‘Oh my
God. These are my seats!’”
When all was said and done, we're told that Maples, who was married to
Donald Trump from 1993 to 1999 and who is the mother of the
President-elect's youngest daughter Tiffany Trump, hashed out a peace accord with Gregory. Gregory confirmed the altercation, and laughed it off.
"We're all good!" Gregory said, adding that in the dark theater she
didn't recognize Maples, whom she calls "a sweetheart," insisting that
she was glad to find other seats nearby. "We had a grand old time and
even took a picture together afterwards."
Maples could not be reached for comment.
