“Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” star Steven (Stevie J) Jordan was ordered Wednesday to pay $1.3 million in child support.
The 45-year-old Grammy-winning producer and reality TV star pleaded
guilty and avoided jail time after agreeing to fork over the money he
failed to pay to his ex-fiancé Carol Antoinette Bennett for more than 13
years, according to court papers. The couple have two children
together.
Prosecutors had asked that Jordan be jailed for up to six months after
he failed several drug tests and didn’t seem to “appreciate the gravity
of his situation” and had a “lack of respect for the Court.”
Instead, he faces three years' probation and must pay $1,304,835.86 in restitution.
“This case is bulls--t,” Jordon, who earns $27,000 a month for his VH1
show, told the Daily News last year outside the courtroom. “I take great
care of my kids,” he said. “I love my children.”
Neither the father of six nor his lawyers responded to requests for comment Wednesday.
