The
National Bureau of Statistics today reported Nigeria’s inflation figure
for the month of February 2017 at 17.78%.
This figure represents the
first decline in the country’s
inflation figure
over the last fifteen months as it grew at a slower
pace of 0.94 percentage points from the 18.72% reported in January 2017.
This decline represents slower rises in already high food and non-food
prices and favourable base effects over year
2016 food and non-food prices.
During
the month, the highest year on year increases were seen in electricity,
Liquid and solid fuels, Fuels and lubricants for personal transport
equipment, Clothing materials, other articles of clothing and clothing
accessories and book and stationaries……
