President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday resumed duty after his Vacation in London.
This was disclosed in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Femi Adesina.
“In
compliance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the
President has formally transmitted letters to the Senate and the House
of Representatives, intimating the National Assembly ‘that I have
resumed my functions as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
with effect from Monday, March 13, 2017, after my vacation’,” the
statement said.
President Buhari returned to Nigeria on Friday,
March 10 after leaving the country for UK on January 19th. He
transferred power to vice president Yemi Osinbajo, who acted in his
capacity until today. He was billed to return on February 5, but wrote
the National Assembly informing them of his intention to remain in the
UK to complete and receive some tests results.
