Now that we’re totally ova that annoying 10 bands meme, there’s a new internet obsession that’s actually worth getting eggs-cited about.

Meet Cloud Eggs, the easy, delicious and oh-so Instagram-able
alternative to same-old fried, scrambled, poached and hard-boiled
varieties.
Recipes for Eggs in a Cloud, as they’re also known, have circulated
through cyberspace for a number of years, but they’ve just resurfaced in
a big way.
To whip up the cumulus-y creation,
just separate the yolk from the whites. Whip the whites until they’re
stiff and arrange them in a puffy mound with a small well in the middle
on a parchment-lined cookie sheet (or on a piece of bread, if you like).
Bake at 450 degrees for a few minutes, then gently plop the yolks into
the center and bake for a few more minutes. Like we said — easy.
And really pretty. On Instagram, at #cloudeggs,
more than 900 variations float by. And just in for Mother’s Day, no
less. Serving suggestion: Bring to Mom in bed, accompanied, for obvious
reason, by Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now.” You’re welcome.
