In our troubled world, far too many people are suffering from the pain of debt, the upheavals of the financial markets and struggling businesses. This passage brings comfort; real satisfaction is found not in money, but in loving relationships with God, our spouse, children and friends.
These are our greatest assets.
Many live happily with less, and indeed there is often the necessity to do so.
But, if that helps us all focus on relationships, then its probably worth it in the end.
When last did you catch up with your family? I don't mean just being in the same room or house focused on your devices? Be deliberate today;do something together and celebrate the fact that you are together.
Remember to teach your children that life does not consist in the abundance of “things.”
If you can change that disturbing mindset that having possessions brings fulfilment and happiness, you would have given them a most precious gift.
