Serena Williams attended her second Met Gala in 2017 showing her baby bump.
On
Monday, the athlete attended the fundraiser for the Costume Institute
at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While typically seen in short skirts
and dresses made of spandex and cotton on the tennis courts, she
switched things up in a green Atelier Versace gown. The chiffon piece
featured a halter neckline and beading as well as a long train.
Williams,
who’s engaged to Alexis Ohanian, paired the piece with massive emerald
and diamond earrings as well as a spiky bracelet.
This is a markedly different look than the one she wore for her only other appearance at the annual event in 2011
While the ensemble, featuring a feathery skirt and a fascinator, is considered one of the biggest Met Gala fashion fails in the event’s history, for 2017 Williams is definitely back on top — in more ways than one.
