This Actress Just Revealed How Often She And Her Husband Have Sex

In an exclusive interview with People, Suzanne Somers divulges how she’s kept her marriage with Alan Hamel sexy and strong after 50 years together. In her latest book,

Two’s Company: A Fifty-Year Romance With Lessons Learned in Love, Life & Business, the 70-year old actress, businesswoman, and author says she and Hamel have slept together every single night of their 40-year marriage.

Somers also told People that the two didn’t have a pact or agreement to never spend a night apart—“just an insatiable desire to be together." (Here’s some more genius advice from happily marriage couples.) Still, Somers isn’t giving their daily romps full credit for her happy union. “I wish I could say there is a recipe. Marriages take time and work,” she says, admitting they "fought like dogs" during their first 10 years together.

But clearly, the frequency of their intimacy is keeping both their marriages and their bodies healthy. “Alan has the blood pressure of an athlete, and he claims that sex is his daily cardio workout and says that it’s a hell of a lot more fun than a treadmill,” Somers says.
Somers also says they give each other “a lot of attention,” go on three date nights per week, dance when they’re alone, respect each other, and value their good health. Plus they laugh a lot—which is always an important ingredient in any good relationship.
