US Google opening free work space in SF for nonprofits

Google's Justin Steele is the principal lead for US giving, seen at the offices of Google on Tuesday May 2, 2017, in San Francisco, Ca. Google is launching a free community space for local non-profits at the ground floor of its San Francisco offices.

Google is opening part of an office building along the Embarcadero for nonprofits to use for events or meetings — for free. The 8,500-square-foot spot, dubbed Google Community Space, includes an event room with capacity for 150 people, a kitchen and a shared working area. Fifty organizations have been using it since January as part of a pilot project.
