Melania Trump attended the Ford’s Theatre Annual Gala alongside President Trump in Washington on Sunday.
For the gala, the first lady wore a $2,595 crepe draped gown from Filipino designer Monique Lhuillier‘s 2017 resort collection.
She paired the glamorous floor-length silk gown, which featured a front knot at the waist and cape back detailing, with Manolo Blahnik pumps — also reverting to her signature hairstyle. She appeared to have a good time at the event, writing on Twitter, “Thank you to everyone at @fordstheatre for tonight’s performances! @POTUS and I enjoyed the evening very much.”
It appears the first lady’s designer of choice was fond of the look — the designer wrote, “Elegant in silk! @FLOTUS at the Ford’s Theatre Gala in #MLResort17 #moniquelhuillier.”
Lhuillier
is a well-known designer adored by high-profile stars, fashion
influencers, political figures, and even a former first lady.
Michelle Obama
was often photographed in the luxe label during her time in the White
House. For the 37th annual Kennedy Center Honors in Washington in 2014,
she wore a pale pink embroidered gown from Lhuillier.
