Even though the entertainment industry is growing in leaps and bounds and contributing enormously to our economy, society doesn't always value the work and talent of artists and entertainers.
Often, entertainers themselves feel intimidated or unsure of their value and offer discounts or work for free just to get work. Easier said than done, but entertainers must try to be more assertive; it is your brand that will give you that confidence.
It is important to stop regarding yourself purely as an artiste; your brand is your business and you must be entrepreneurial in your approach. Is this a hobby or is it a #business?
A business requires a business plan. As with all excellent businesses you must always be #professional, #reliable, #responsive, #punctual, #service-oriented and display your talent and expertise consistently.
Who are you? Your appearance, your behaviour, your reputation, the company that you keep, your online presence; these are all a direct reflection on your brand. It is up to you to proactively project an image that is authentic and engaging.
Don't try to be what you are not or it will show through.
The way you present your brand will have a direct impact on your earning ability and your overall success. Guard your brand jealously.
