Hollywood Artist Katy Perry honored the victims of the Manchester terrorist attack in a speech and with her clothing.
The “Swish Swish” singer’s stunning white dress during Sunday’s benefit
concert included photos of the 22 people killed during the bombing.
Perry, who performed a broken down version of “Part of Me” and her
chart-topping single “Roar,” wore a short white minidress that she
initially covered with a feathered jacket.
Once she took the top layer off, Perry revealed an undershirt that
peeked through the heart-shaped cutout on the back of the dress; the
shirt was covered in a collage of the victims of the bombing.
“It’s not easy to always choose love, is it, especially in moments like
these, right?” she said. “It can be the most difficult thing to do. But
love conquers fear and love conquers hate. And this love that you
choose will give you strength and it’s our greatest power … I encourage
you to choose love even when it’s difficult. Let no one take that away
from you.”
Ariana Grande organized the benefit show after 22 people were killed outside her concert last month.
The event, which also included performances by Justin Bieber, Coldplay,
Miley Cyrus, Pharrell Williams, Take That, Niall Horan, Little Mix,
Robbie Williams and the Black Eyed Peas, raised at least $9 million for
the We Love Manchester emergency fund, which is providing financial aid
for families affected by the suicide bombing.
