Announcing Some of Our Designers For AFWLlondon 2017

MEET SOME OF THE SHOWCASING DESIGNERS AT AFWL 2017

The best African fashion designers spearhead Africa Fashion Week London 2017

Graduating from Central St. Martin’s School of Art in the mid-nineties Samson Soboye left with a degree in Fashion, Communication & Promotion, then rapidly embarked on a fashion styling career.
2017 sees the launch of the SOBOYE ‘Afrikimono’ collection that fuses cultural dress influences from Japan, India, West Africa and Great Britain.
Fresh from Graduate Fashion Week 2017, the direction of Akanni’s latest Spring Summer RTW 2018 Menswear collection is Back to School’ focusing on merging Western and African school uniforms.
She believes that Africa emulates the western way of dressing to demonstrate progression but in turn has lost its cultural background. Her focus for this collection is to celebrate a modern interpretation that still offers desirability for the contemporary fashion consumer.

Becca Apparel London is a London based fashion label, established in 2015.
The brand focuses on combining African prints with contemporary trends, to create a unique style for women for/on every occasion.
NEVICE is an African originated fashion brand by designer Naima Maneno, who was born and raised in Tanzania and later relocated to Germany.
Her fashion inspiration came from her local surroundings: The lifestyle of a semi-arid climatic region is represented by beautiful desert patterns, while the cheerful, warm and colourful atmosphere of NEVICE is inspired by the shores of the Indian Ocean.

“Fashion for a change” is the message NEVICE would like to carry along.
Joela is an accessory brand that grew from making children's shoes to producing bags similar to mothers as well.
Though predominantly made of leather, the unique aspect of our bags is the mix of fabric (mainly African origin but not Ankara wax print) and leather. This is a luxury brand designed and made to very high standards.
