Marc Jacobs and Adwoa Aboah
go way back. In fact, it was Marc who gave Adwoa her first ever fashion
show in New York and he has been a keen supporter of her career ever
since. Not only that, but they share many of the same principles;
“Diversity is something that’s important to me and it’s something you
always see with casting for Marc’s shows,” says Adwoa, who founded Gurls Talk; an empowering online platform that allows women from all over the world to share their stories and celebrate each other.
And now, their relationship is cemented further with the announcement
that Adwoa is the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty, joining Kaia Gerber, Winona Ryder and Edie Campbell. “It’s a dream come true to be part of his vision,” she adds.
To kick off the partnership, Adwoa fronts the campaign for Le Marc
Liquid Lip Crayon; a first-of-its-kind lip product combining the
powerful pigment payoff of a liquid lipstick with the precise
application of a crayon, all in a single swipe.
“Marc Jacobs
Beauty is really exciting for me; when I was at school I would always
struggle to find make-up that suited my skin tone and I certainly
wouldn’t find anything from a luxury brand. I’m glad that girls don’t
have that problem anymore.”
