This Year’s $2 Million Dollar Gold Leaf Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra

Walking the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is one of the greatest accomplishments in modeling, but perhaps an even bigger deal is wearing the über-prestigious fantasy bra. 

Each year, the honor goes to a resident Victoria’s Secret Angel, and for this year’s show in Shanghai, 27-year-old model Lais Ribeiro is The Chosen One.

 

Ribeiro first walked the fashion show back in 2010 and was officially crowned as an Angel in 2015. The Brazilian revealed the news via Instagram with a photo of her wearing the bra, and it’s so blinged out.

The bra was designed by jewelry designer Mouawad and weighs more than 600 karats, putting it at a value of two million dollars. According to People magazine, 6,000 gemstones were hand-stitched on a Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Demi Bra in almost 350 hours just to make it.

People also caught the exact moment Ribeiro found out she’d be wearing the fantasy bra. The model was trying on a gorgeous pair of wings during a fitting when the team literally unveiled the finished product just like that. She immediately burst into tears before changing into the ensemble.

“Who doesn’t dream of wearing the Fantasy Bra, I mean it’s an honor to be among Gisele [Bündchen], Candice [Swanepoel], Adriana [Lima], and all the big top models who have worn it in the past,” Ribeiro explained. “I get too emotional talking about this. I have to work on that.”
