Lagos State Government said no part of Jubilee Bridge at Abule Egba was falling off.
"We want to state categorically that the bridge is not in any way under threat.
The part shown in a picture is a portion of the railings hit by an articulated vehicle in the wee-hours
of the morning a couple of days ago and State Officials had gone to assess the damage.
"The said railing is a decorative element and has no relation whatsoever with the structure of the bridge.
"However, the State Government has mobilised the contractor to move to the site to repair the damaged portion and also put an additional reinforcement to forestall future occurrence of similar nature.
"The State Government wishes to re-assure the motoring public plying the bridge that they have nothing to fear as the bridge was built to conform with best international standard obtainable anywhere in the world.
"The State Government is also using this medium to appeal to stakeholders in communities where critical infrastructure such as the bridge is located to own such infrastructure.
"Drivers especially of articulated vehicles are advised to drive carefully, obey speed limit and ensure safety at all times on all our roads."
