Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux split as couple after Seven Years

The celebrity couple, who began dating in May 2011, got engaged in August 2012 and were married three years later.

“In an effort to reduce any further speculation,
we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship,” the couple said in a statement to the Daily News.


“Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else's fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”

The two have been apart for most of the last year, with Theroux frequently spotted in New York rather than their Los Angeles home.



Aniston, who has also dated Vince Vaughn and John Mayer, was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 before a very public split amid rumors that he cheated with Angelina Jolie. The two eventually got married before splitting in September 2016.

Theroux spent 14 years with hair stylist Heidi Bivens before a 2011 breakup, shortly before he began dating Aniston.
