The
former athlete and reality show star revealed on Instagram that she
recently suffered severe sun damage on her nose, adding "PSA- always
wear your sunblock!"
The photo shows that
doctors had to remove a significant amount of skin from the tip of
Caitlyn's nose, causing the raw skin underneath to turn bright red.
According to People, the skin taken out was a basal cell carcinoma, which is a form of skin cancer.

Just be smart when
you're in the sun, she says. "One smart switch: Cover up more when
you’re outdoors—think broad-brimmed hats, UV-blocking sunglasses, and
rash guards," Marmur says.
You should also make sure you're wearing the appropriate sunscreen for your skin type,
and not just at the beach. “It’s not enough to only wear sunscreen when
you’re going to be outdoors for extended periods,” says Andrew Miner,
M.D., a dermatologist in Brevard, Florida, who had a basal cell
carcinoma in college. “We get so much daily UV radiation that we don’t
even think about.”
If you're concerned that you may be prone to skin cancer, here are a few tips on how you can do a self-check test at home.
