Chairman, Heirs Holdings and Founder, The Tony Elumelu Foundation,
Tony O. Elumelu joined top tech executives – including Facebook CEO Mark
Zuckerberg, yesterday, May 23, 2018, for the Tech for Good Summit,
convened by French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Tech for Good Summit took place at the Elysee Palace in Paris, with 50 tech leaders in attendance.
Elumelu participated in his capacity as the Chairman of United Bank
for Africa (UBA), the foremost pan-African bank with presence in twenty
African countries, UK and the U.S. Macron used the summit to remind the
gathered Silicon Valley leaders of their responsibility to consumers
and the world, in the wake of the recent scandals that have rocked
companies like Google and Facebook. He also reminded them that France is
in favour of strong tech regulation.
A few notable invited guests: Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Uber CEO
Dara Khosrowshahi, IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich,
Samsung President Young Sohn, and SAP CEO Bill McDermott, among others.
