It was Thursday evening, after a business meeting, I retired to my suite at Burj Al Arab, Dubai.
I later decided to review one of my writings which I hope to make into a book someday, and the question of loyalty came pressing in my thoughts:
Where is your loyalty?
Loyalty really matters in all we do. But, what kind of loyalty should someone consider most?
* Loyalty to your colleagues
* Loyalty to your team
* Loyalty to your project
* Loyalty to your customers
* Loyalty to your company
All these are good forms of loyalty. But there is one that encompass them all..
***** Loyalty to yourself.
This is a much deeper sense of loyalty than people often think. A 30 year career with a company may be thought to be loyalty. But, if your engagement contradicts your commitment to the promise of value your life has to offer, you are not loyal to your purpose you developed yourself for.
Building your business and career requires you to grow yourself; promote yourself, and get the market to reward yourself.
In the long run, every single effort you make to develop yourself is a green light for the company you work for, the projects you lead, the community you live, the networks you build, the customers you delight.
