You are Invited to the lunch of the Nigerian Diaspora Engagement Program (NGDEP) | Friday, January 18th

When the Buhari administration created the Nigerian Diaspora Bill in 2017, it was so that our homeland could benefit from the potentially wide range of experience and insights that can be gained from Nigerians living and working abroad. It was also to create opportunities for Nigerians abroad to play a more active part in national development.

In response to this development and as a way to support the aims of the Nigerian diaspora bill, NGDEP was created.

NGDEP –
Nigerian diaspora Engagement Program is the brainchild of a group of IT developers and media/communication specialists.
Date: Friday, January 18th, 2019, Time: 6:00 PM- 10:00 PM Venue: I/O SPACES 8222, Georgia Avenue Slver Spring, MD 20910, USA.

Our model is simple; We want to create a network of Nigerians in the Diaspora that will generate a bank of ideas and insights that will contribute to development of Nigeria.
NGDEP will serve as a collector and collator of ideas and solutions as well as a connector between the community of Nigerians in the diaspora and policy makers in the Nigerian government.
Our focus is on collecting ideas that can provide solutions in 15 key areas of development; these areas include women affairs, agriculture, defence, education, health and more.
Our official launch is on the 18th of January, 2019 in Washington, USA. Visit www.ngdep.com to book your seat

Our process will include:
⁃Connecting with Nigerians in the diaspora
⁃Educating them about the Nigerian Diaspora Bill
⁃Collecting ideas and solutions via our proprietary online form.
⁃Analysing the data collected
⁃Presenting our findings in regular reports to the relevant authorities as well as to the contributors.
We want to provide the opportunity for Nigerians in the Diaspora to have a more direct line of communication, contribution and influence on the development of the Nation.
We know that the majority of Nigerians both at home and abroad are patriotic.
Most of us would like to see some of our fundamental problems meet practical solutions.
Most Nigerians want to do more than send money home by western union.

We are also smart and critical thinkers
NGDEP is a way we can become a part of the solution instead of simply complaining about the problems.
NGDEP is a way for us to propose and present well thought-out ideas without any political agenda.
NGDEP is a way to reverse the brain drain.

If you are a Nigerian living and working abroad, you are in a unique position of being able to see both sides – as well as experience systems, procedures and more – from the inside.
NGDEP is a way for you to share your experience, know-how and perspectives you have gained from living and working in a different culture.
You are in the unique position of knowing about the cultures, habits and processes of two different nations. You have also been able to see what works and your knowledge may prove invaluable to filling the gaps in our national development processes. You could bring insight to specific situations or simply give a different approach to a chronic problem.

Share Your Ideas!

We are urging all nigerians living abroad to visit www.ngdep.com and fill the form to share their ideas and solutions.

The first step is to fill out the form on the website.
When we collect the ideas we will analyse and create reports that we can send to subscribers and we will also ensure that those reports reach the eyes of the relevant policy makers and government representatives.

The NGDEP platform is a formal organised way for Nigerians in the Diaspora to contribute and communicate more directly with policy makers and relevant decision makers.

That way they can have more impact and influence on the welfare of our dear Nation even if they do not live there.
