NIGERIA - ABUJA Acting Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Adamu, Tuesday appeared before the hallowed chamber of the Senate to brief the lawmakers on efforts made so far towards addressing security challenges presently faced in the country.

The closed-session, which lasted about
two and half hours, provided the Nigeria Police Force and the Senate a rare opportunity to review the security situation and proffer possible solutions.
According to him, "Today, the Senate received a briefing from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, on the issues of insecurity across the nation.
In his remarks after the meeting, Senate President Bukola Saraki churned out some of the far-reaching decisions reached at the meeting.
"The Senate also reiterated that it stands ready at any time to ensure that the Nigerian Police has all that it needs to be able to combat all threats to our nation’s security."
