Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, would today (June 6) depart Nigeria to attend the 29th International Exhibition Belagro in Belarus, Eastern Europe.
Ortom's attendance was as a result of an invitation extended to him by the Ambassador of Belarus to Nigeria, Vyacheslav Bril.
"The exhibition," according to Ortom's spokesperson, Terver Akase, "is part of partnership arrangements for the development of the agriculture sector and its value chain in Benue State."
The media aide listed others areas of collaboration between Benue State and Belarus to include supplies of agriculture machinery among others.
Meanwhile, Ortom, has urged the incoming 9th National Assembly to create North-central Development Commission that would enhance rebuilding ravaged communities in the North-central geopolitical zone.
"Other areas of the collaboration to be explored during the visit include supplies of agriculture machinery and maintenance, as well as training schemes for job creation and youth empowerment," Akase said.
The governor said the level of damage done to communities within the region was similar if not more than the North-east and therefore required urgent intervention.
