Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal would in the next few minutes give judgement on the petitions filed by a former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election.
The Court of Appeal spokesperson, Sa’adatu Kachalla, confirmed this on Tuesday.
“Presidential election petition tribunal: Please be informed. Notice has been given for judgement to be delivered tomorrow (today), September 11."
The Atiku-PDP petitions had collectively challenged Buhari's electoral victory at the February 23 presidential poll, citing several grounds of malpractices, including an allegation that APC colluded with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to rig the poll.
The Atiku-PDP joint petitions are the only and major one that would be decided today after the tribunal has dismissed three other petitions for lack of merit.
Buhari’s academic qualification was also questioned by the Atiku-PDP alliance, among others.
Would the judgement go in favour of Buhari-APC or Atiku-PDP? All eyes are on the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal.
The judgement day is here.
