Lagos State Begins Payment of N35,000 Minimum Wage November 1, 2019

In fulfilment of his promise that Lagos State Government workers would get more than N30,000 minimum wage, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved N35,000 as minimum wage for the state government's workforce.
Lagos State Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, disclosed that with effect from November 1, public servants in the state would begin to enjoy the new minimum wage of N35,000, following its approval for implementation.
Muri-Okunola, in a statement, said the approved minimum wage and consequential adjustments were more than the federal government’s approved recommendation.
Findings show that public servants on grade 7 would enjoy 30 per cent increase; level 8 to 10 would receive 25 per cent increase, 12 to 14 would get 22.5 per cent increase, while level 15-17 would now enjoy 20 per cent increase.
The statement explained that payment of salaries for the month of November was delayed in order to adequately process payment of the new wage. Lagos State Government urged public servants to show more commitment, dedication and selflessness in the delivery of qualitative service to the citizens of the state.
