Lagos State Government would restrict movement of traffic through PWD Level Crossing in Ikeja GRA on January 10 and Brewery Level Crossing along Iganmu axis on January 11 from 8pm to 6am.
The government, in a statement by Lagos State Ministry of Transportation said alternative routes would be provided for road users during the course of construction to enable easy movement of motorists to their various destinations.
The statement advised motorists plying Ikeja axis to access their destinations via Ilupeju Level Crossing towards Ikeja via Old Abeokuta Expressway, while commuters driving along Iganmu axis inward Surulere should make use of Costain and Orile-Iganmu corridor, Bode Thomas Street and Eric Moore Road.
The vehicular restriction is in continuation of the Nigerian Railway Modernisation project (Lagos-Ibadan section), extending to Lagos Ports in Apapa.
Lagos State Government also appealed to residents, especially motorists driving along these corridors to bear the temporary discomfort as the project is aimed at achieving a seamless multimodal transport system with modern infrastructure in the state.
