We give thanks to God
Almighty for bringing us thus far and giving us the strength, courage, faith
and DETERMINATION to succeed and complete this years’ successful event despite
of all the terrors and fears brought to the world by the life snatching and
deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19). The
world was brought to its knees at the early quarter of the year with the sad
and painful news of the virus which began spreading and taking away loved ones
and family.
Year 2020 was hoped to
pass away as many people didn’t agree it was a year at all after meeting so
many other unplanned and scary events aside the Coronavirus outbreak and the
negative and scary events it brought with. With so many bans and events cancelled,
the Pageant was almost waved away and rescheduled to the next year depending on
the outcome of the outbreak being contained or not.
But we didn’t give up
yet. All preparations and processes were gradually set in place with the hopes
that this year 2020 will not just end the sorrows and pains. We didn’t give up
yet, the entertainment industry is not subject to fall just like that. The
nation gradually rose from the fear and outbreak while vaccines were being
tested and arranged.
Therefore, it is with our deepest appreciation and sincere gratitude we say a big and joyful THANK YOU
for your support, love and effort making this year’s 2020 Mr. & Miss Nigeria International, the Rebirth Edition a very huge success and auspicious event.Due to the outbreak, selections were strictly online and done
with digital platforms, and from selection and auditioning of the contestants,
they emerged for voting to be the top choice of camping for the main event. A
number of 105 possible contestants
were registered and auditioned. And after a thorough and considerate
auditioning, a total of 21 contestants
were selected. Our fabulous contestants aged from 17 - 27 and were representing their respective culture and states
from all over the country.
The Competition was very
lucky to be surrounded and helped forward by many parties: our participating
contestants, important guests, first class guest artists, distinguished jury
members, many amazing individuals, our enthusiastic and supportive audience,
first class financial contributors, team members and loved ones.
Appreciation: It has been an
interesting journey so far from the beginning of the process to the event day.
We would love to use this opportunity to give our thanks to all our sponsors,
supporters, patrons, crew, media and others.
The event center: Lekki Astoria Event Center; has hosted the event with their
exclusive and outstanding stage and hall. This is our first time working
together and we hope to collaborate more in the future. Thank you for letting
us in and for helping us forward.
The Jury: Mr. & Miss Nigeria
International has a reputation for attracting National and Internationally
acclaimed jury members. This year's jury has been the important heart of the
Competition. Thank you for your valued contribution over the last few days. Let
us show our thanks.
The Guests: The event was filled with glitz
and glamor with over one
thousand (1,000) guests received via virtual and physical. We thank you
with love for your presence and support on the day of the event. We also want
to thank the International Community who was well represented.
The African Pageant: We previously launched our
prestigious first African Pageant, Mr.
& Miss International Africa, which was held online before the Mr.
& Miss Nigeria International. The pageant was held strictly
online with various votes to get the best and most loved contestants. At the
end, Godfrey Mphatswehiicx from South Africa emerged the winner and was
physically present on the event day of Mr.
& Miss Nigeria International in Nigeria for crowning.
This year’s winners will be
representing Nigeria at various Pageants worldwide with their class and poise.
They will be representing Nigeria at Miss
International World USA, Miss Global USA, Mr. Global, Attitude Men Supermodel
Thailand, Mr. Landscape China, and Mr.
& Miss Ultra United Nation Venezuela. Among the winners, a
number of four winners won a prize of eight hundred thousand naira (N800, 000) worth of medical insurance;
some won consolation prizes from one plot of land to TV sets.
