A runway presentation at New York Fashion Week took an unexpected turn when a member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) interrupted the COS presentation with a protest.
The incident reportedly saw Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) CEO Steven Kolb intervene as the protester attempted to draw attention to the organisation’s
animal-rights campaign. His response, which included restraining the protester, subsequently attracted attention and raised questions about the appropriate handling of demonstrations during major fashion events.Kolb later apologised for what he described as an “inappropriate reaction,” acknowledging that the situation could have been handled differently.
The incident highlights the complex relationship
between fashion platforms and advocacy groups, particularly as issues
