ITV's Annual Pre-tax Profits up 6% to £641m

ITV has reported a 6% rise in annual pre-tax profits of £641m following strong revenue growth across the company.

The UK's biggest commercial broadcaster said it expected to outperform the television advertising market in 2016.

Advertising revenue rose 6% to £1.72bn, with total revenue up 14% to £3.38bn.

However, total viewing across its channels fell by 3% last year, with the share for the main ITV channel falling from 15.6% to just 15%.

Volkswagen sales fall 20% in the UK

In November, 12,958 new VWs were registered, down from 16,196 in November 2014, SMMT figures show.

 

Other VW Group marques were also hit, with Seat down 24%, Skoda down 11% and Audi down 4%. Only Bentley managed an increase, with sales up from 73 vehicles to 88.
