AKPABIO ATTRIBUTES SUCCESS TO LIEUTENANTS

Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom has attributed his landmark achievements in the state to the caliber of personnel he is working with.

Governor Akpabio who was honoured with the highest chieftaincy title, Ntanta Offiong (meaning the Star of Annang) and his wife Ekaette Unoma as Mkpouto Annang meaning, Jewel, by Afe Annang at Ebebit Afaha Obong Saturday during a grand reception in his honour, noted with satisfaction the cooperation and support he enjoyed from his deputy, Engr Patrick Ekpotu, the secretary to the state government (SSG), Obong Umana Okon Umana and the speaker, Akwa Ibom House of Assembly, Obong Ignatius Edet. Governor Akpabio described the entire members of the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly as those that were selected by God, considering their loyalty and commitment to the service of the state in the law-making process.

Governor Akpabio promised to show the direction not just to Akwa Ibom but also to the Nigerian public in terms of the initiation of laudable development projects for the benefit of all and sundry in the state. Chief Akpabio, flanked by the head of civil service (HCS), Mrs Grace Anwana, the speaker, AKHA Obong Ignatius Edet, assured that his administration would do its utmost by ensuring that all sections of the state are accommodated in the provision of basic infrastructure in the years ahead. The state deputy governor, Engr Patrick Ekpotu, in his speech on the occasion assured that the administration of Governor Akpabio was working round the clock to ensure the provision of durable roads, potable water, and electricity as well as the construction of classroom blocks in public schools in the state for a better future to be guaranteed.
Engr Ekpotu who was honoured with the chieftaincy title of Iberedem Annang along side the secretary to the state government (SSG) Obong Umana Okon Umana, expressed their appreciation to the leadership of Afe Annang for the honour done him and Governorv Akpabio and promised not to disappoint the entire people of Akwa Ibom in piloting the affairs of the state. The Ntisong Akwa Esop Imaisong Ibibio III, Ntisong Essien Ekidem and representative of Oron Development Union, Chief Okon Efretuei, in their goodwill messages on the occasion noted with great delight the unity of purpose governor Akpabio has brought to the people of the state through the appointment of persons into his cabinet and the initiation of development projects in all sections of the state. They pledged their people's continued loyalty and support to enable the present administration to succeed in the state.

Chief Senas Ukpanah who chaired the occasion, noted in his speech entitled, "The Future Depends on what we Do for the Present", that during the last one and half years in office, Governor Akpabio has initiated strategic infrastructure aimed at transforming Akwa Ibom to a destination state. Chief Ukpanah noted with delight that people who were operating in darkness in the state now have cause to enjoy in view of the numerous development projects ranging from the rural electrification, free and compulsory education to road construction, and therefore pleaded with the Governor Akpabio to continue to do more not minding the antics of petition writers. The Itai Afe Annang IV, Okuku Pius Effiong Eside III, in conferring the chieftaincy titles on Governor Akpabio and others including the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Vincent Ogbalufor, expressed appreciation to Chief Akpabio for making Annang people to be proud in the administration of the state.

Chief Eside noted that the entire Annang sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora decided to honour Governor Akpabio and his wife for carrying all Akwa Ibom people along in the administration of the state. He therefore announced the conferment of the chieftaincy titles of Ntata Offiong on Akpabio, Mkpoto Annang on his wife, Ekaette Unoma, Iberedem Annang on the deputy governor, Patrick Ekpotu, the secretary to the state government (SSG), Obong Umanah Okon Umanah and the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Vincent Ogbolafor, respectively for supporting Governor Akpabio to succeed in office.
