MISS AK USA, OTHER PAGEANTS VISIT GOVERNOR’S WIFE


Beauty queens have been charged to initiate projects that would impact positively on the lives of the people. The wife of the governor, Mrs Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, gave this charge during a courtesy call on her by Miss Akwa Ibom USA, Miss Ima Usoro at her residence in Ewet housing estate recently.

Mrs Akpabio who pledged to give her support in her project that are geared towards improving the lives of Akwa Ibom people both at home and in diaspora, also urged her to collaborate and work with other beauty queens as a team in order to create positive impact during her tenure of office.

The wife of the governor also charged her to enlighten and educate Akwa Ibom people on the importance of going to school. She also added that education in the state was free for everyone. Mrs Akpabio who described the beauty queen as an ambassador of the state, advised her to be a role model by living an exemplary life for the up-coming ones to emulate, and prayed God to guide her. Speaking earlier, the beauty queen, Miss Usoro thanked the wife of the governor for granting her audience in spite of her tight schedule, and lauded her for touching the lives of Akwa Ibom people positively. Miss Usoro added that one of her projects was to visit the orphanage homes, work with the youths. She also enlightened them on the dangers of drug abuse.

The beauty queen also commended Gov Godswill Akpabio for transforming the state positively by putting on ground infrastructures which have changed the lives of the people. Miss Usoro, who was accompanied the 1st, 2nd and 3rd runners up, expressed deep appreciation to the state government for the support given to the Akwa Ibom people who are based in the United States of America.
