JULIET VORSAH, a 20-year-old woman drug pusher has been arrested
among three suspected drug peddlers during a buy-bust operation at
Celebrity Golf, at Sakumono near Tema.
Juliet was said to have been arrested with large quantities of dried
leaves suspected to be Indian hemp in a bowl at her ghetto with two
other accomplices, Kojo Boateng, 20 and Godfred Amuzu, 26, who visited
the ghetto to patronize the narcotic substance.
The Sakumono District Police Commander, Superintendent Alex K. Wowolo, briefed DAILY GUIDE
that his outfit had tip-off about the nefarious activities of Juliet
who was said to be the owner of the ghetto in an uncompleted building
and other suspects.
According to him, police patrol team was on October 9, 2012, at about
2:40 p.m. detailed to the Celebrity Golf area to keep surveillance and
arrest the suspect who police noted took into criminal activities such
car snatching, burglary among others in the area after smoking ‘wee.’
He continued that police, on reaching the area, spotted the two
accomplices, now arrested, emerging from the uncompleted building where
they were rounded up. A search conducted on them revealed five rappers
of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and another quantity in a
rubber.
Superintendent Wowolo further said that police mounted their hunt for
Juliet who was arrested after she took to her heels upon seeing them,
noting that a search conducted in her ghetto had revealed large
quantities of suspected Indian hemp in a big bowl and white paper
rappers.
She however, denied ownership of the dried leaves during
interrogation, according to the Police District Commander, claiming she
stayed in the ghetto with boyfriend whom she was unable to identify to
the police.
Superintendent Wowolo entreated the public to continue giving vital
information to the Police to assist them in their investigations and
help eliminate crime from the community.
He admonished parents to pay attention to their wards and always
advise them against engaging in drugs since that could land them in
trouble or addiction.
The police boss mentioned that the arrested suspects would be
arraigned after investigations, while they continued to track down other
suspects.
