Highlight of the third edition of the Glamorous Kanekalon Night of 1000
Braids was the Kanekalon hair shows which introduced new major hair
products into Nigerian market thereby showing off all the unique
benefits of Kanekalon which include flame retardant, light/soft/silky,
globally loved and hot water friendly. These newly introduced products
included ‘futura’, ‘short and elegant’, ‘quick dry water repellent’ and
‘new styles’.
The event organised by Kaneka Corporation Japan, makers of the world’s
finest fibre, was part of the company’s effort to reward its consumers
at a world class event which had the brand ambassador, Mrs. Stephanie
Okereke-Idahosa, in attendance amongst industry leaders’, high society
and various celebrities.
Executive Officer of Kaneka Corporation, Mr. Hidesuke Amachi, said the company has always held its consumers “close to our hearts by bringing out their original beauty and we feel Night of 1000 Braids event was designed to thank customers for their patronage of Kanekalon products during the year. It is the best platform where we can demonstrate our appreciation towards them.”
According to him, the last two editions of Kanekalon ‘Night of 1000
Braids’ “were enthusiastically embraced by Nigerian women, so much so
that we knew without an iota of doubt that we were on the right path. It
is the same philosophy we hold towards our products, we have strived to
evolve the Kanekalon 1000 Braids party even better for the satisfaction
and inspiration of our consumers,” he said.
Amachi said further that for Kaneka, as a world-class brand, ‘it is imperative to further bridge the gap between our consumers and us by coming up with this unique event. It’s rewarding and entertaining for our customers and we feel very proud playing this important role in the Nigerian economy.”
There was also musical performances by the sensational Flavour and
fantastic Byrmo; unique fashion parade segment with bespoke designs from
the stable of Ayaba and a braids parade segment managed by Salon de
Eve, the winner of 2010 Kanekalon Braids Parade. Other attractions were
prize winning activities, which consisted of digital interactive
interlude with guests, and best braids award and Terrymore International
Band, which made the event extremely enjoyable and full of fun for all
guests, provided more entertainment. The show was anchored by popular
comedian, Teju Babayface and famous on-air radio personality, Matse
Uwatse.
The Kanekalon brand ambassador, Okereke-Idahosa, told the audience of how it has been a great privilege representing Kanekalon in Nigeria – hair product lots of African beauties can relate to.

initiated to reward hairstylists across Nigeria. Kanekalon Naija Hair
Parade, an initiative that celebrated Nigeria’s 50th independence
anniversary through a hair competition followed by the initial 2010 and
2011 versions of Kanekalon Night of 1000 Braids before this 2012
version.
