`Ready to Die', the new Stooges album, is very less likely to compete
with Taylor Swift or Justin Timberlake, according to a recent report.
It is being said Iggy Pop is aware of this fact. Lately, it was
affirmed by him that he did not do the album to make money out of it. Rather,
he simply felt that he should do the album.
The report said it was his teenage dream, but the same converted into
somewhat a nightmare soon after the band was joined by guitarist James
Williamson in 1970.
Yes! It has been found that the eight songs on Raw Power were written
by Iggy and Williamson together.
However, the album tanked and the band was consumed by heroin abuse.
When the final show was played by them in 1974 at Detroit's Michigan Palace,
beer bottles were literally being dodged by them all night.
Willamson said when he looked back, he found that it was better if they
did not get any success. He said they both could have killed themselves if they
had earned money after abusing drugs.
"This is my teenage dream, having a band that makes records and
plays gigs. That's still the glory of it, and I wanted to honor the institution
and honor the group", avowed Iggy Pop.
