Not many of you would be aware of the fact that mushroom is full of
nutrition. Recently, two studies have been carried out, which have revealed the
strengths of the edible mushrooms.
One of the two studies was carried out by a group of researchers from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of
Public Health. They divided volunteers into two groups. One of the obese adults group was given a
liter of white button mushrooms every day.
The second group was provided with regular weight reduction diet. They were followed for a year and
after assessing them, it was found that mushroom group stood out to be the
winners. They were able to lose more weight
in comparison to the other group.
Not only they were able to lose more weight, but they were also able to
maintain weight loss in a
better manner. The second study was carried out by a group of researchers from
Boston University School of Medicine.
Volunteer group was either given vitamin D2, vitamin D3 or mushroom powder for continuous 12 weeks in the winter. After
assessing the, it was concluded that levels of vitamin d was same in all the
three groups.
Experts said low-energy density foods like mushrooms are better for
dieters and are full of nutrition as well.
