Malaysia's Defence Minister
and acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein speaks at a news
conference at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur April 15,
2014. ―
Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein
said today it was not essential for Malaysia to gain custody of the “black
boxes” from Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
The acting transport
added that the primary concern was to discover the facts about what happened
aboard the plane that went missing on March 8 with 239 people on board.
“It is finding out the truth and in
order to find out the truth, definitely we have to reveal what is in the black
box, there is no question of it not being released,” he told reporters at the
Putra World Trade Centre.
This is despite the International
Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) saying that Malaysia, where the missing
plane was registered in, is obliged to launch an investigation and secure the
wreckage.
