Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has hereby consider and approved reducing the Lagos State University students school fees by 60%.
Few days ago, the Lagos State University students, went on a protest to
the Governor’s office, for the hike in their school fees. The angry
students were not ready to leave until they were assured that, their
fees will be slashed down to a reasonable amount.
Recently, the Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has therefore approved a reduction in the school fees by 34 percent and 60 percent across the different faculties and courses in the school.
He announced the reduction at a press conference on Wednesday, in Alausa Ikeja. According to the law setting up the university, the council which was set up by the governor to look into the matter of the proposed new fees, have forwarded its approval to the institution’s governing council for implementation.
It was also stated that the reduction in fees would not affect the state government’s release of research fund, scholarship, bursary provision and the promise the government made on infrastructure and physical development of LASU.
