“Breaking Bad” broke good.
One of the most improbable hits in television history went out in a
blaze of triumphant glory at Monday night’s Emmy Awards, cooking up four
major victories.
The show, which ended last fall after five seasons, won its fourth Emmy
as best drama. Earlier in the night, Bryan Cranton, who played
teacher-turned-meth-dealer Walter White, won his fourth for best actor
in a drama, Aaron Paul won his third best supporting drama actor
statuette and Anna Gunn won her second for best supporting actress.
Gunn said she misses going to the set. Cranston joked that he misses
his on-screen wife, too. “Especially the scenes in bed,” he quipped.
The victories for “Breaking Bad” came as no real surprise — nor did
much of anything else on Monday’s Emmy show from Los Angeles: winners in
every major category had won before.
Jim Parsons won his fourth best comedy actor Emmy for CBS’ “The Big
Bang Theory” and Julia Louis-Dreyfus won her third in a row as best
comedy actress for HBO’s “Veep.”
Louis-Dreyfus also scored the best comedy points when she joked with
co-presenter Cranston about a kissing scene she once had with him on
“Seinfeld.”
