United Nations (UN) has published the list of attendees of the Climate Summit hosted
in New York. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called for the summit.
The summit will be held on September 23 and representatives from 125
countries will attend it. The big names to attend the Climate Summit are Barack
Obama, the President of the United States; David Cameron, the Prime Minister of
the United Kingdom; Francois Hollande, the President of France; and Park Geun-hye,
the President of South Korea.
The two of the biggest carbon dioxide emitters, China and India, will
send lower-level officials to attend the summit. Zhang Gaoli, Vice Premier,
will be attending the summit in place of the Chinese President Xi Jinping and
India will send the country’s environment minister instead of Narendra Modi,
the Prime Minister of India.
Australia, Ukraine, Russia, and Pakistan will send their foreign
ministers.
