It's a hard knock life for Tidal, but Jay Z is assuring fans that his new media streaming site is legit.
The music mogul took to Twitter to blast a "smear campaign" he claims
big companies are spending millions to launch against Tidal.
Jay Z explained in a series of tweets using the hashtag #TidalFacts
that the new music service isn't failing despite critics saying
otherwise.
"Tidal is doing just fine. We have over 770,000 subs. We have been in business less than one month," he wrote.
The artist continued to defend his business by comparing it to similar companies who took years to find their success.
"The iTunes Store wasn't built in a day. It took Spotify 9 years to be successful," he explained.
Beyoncé, Madonna, Kanye West and Daft Punk are among the co-owners of
the service which the rap artist says is supposed to give "fans more
without the middlemen."
